Extending the shaft

Twfsa 16 April 2005 23:46:38
I want to extend the shaft on a graphite club, not sure what size the butt
is.

What holds the extender in the shaft, I seen where some will need to be
built up with double faced or build up tape, some say may require sanding.

Should I just remove the grip and take it to a club maker for sizeing?

Thanks
Tom

GolfSmith - plastic extenders + epoxy. Unless the shaft is an odd size, you
ought to be good to go. Depends how much you want to extend - I've never
gone beyond a inch ... Side effect of "measure once - cut immediately" while
building my first set of clubs...

You could also buy a new shaft ...

The extenders I've used fit inside the graphite shaft. It's a snug fit
and may require sanding. There is one type for regular graphite shafts
and another (thicker) one for ultralite shafts, which have thinner
walls.
