But the confrontation between Mickelson and Singh in the champion's locker room on Friday was far worse than the two acknowledged. According to several sources, Mickelson called Singh a "classless [unprintable]" for having an official check the length of his spikes during Saturday's rain-plagued round. Singh, playing in the group behind Mickelson, said Mickelson's spike marks were affecting putts in Singh's group.
According to sources, Singh responded in the locker room by basically telling Mickelson he was welcome to throw the first punch. Mickelson didn't. But when they were paired together on Sunday, the tension between them perhaps sapped their energy and concentration. Mickelson shot 74, Singh 72.

If this is true then there must have been a huge coverup because based on the comments from the Golf Channel and CBS, they dismissed the rift as amounting to nothing. Even some of the players interviewed who claimed they were in the locker when it happened asserted that they 2 talked and got it our of their system but the discussion was *not* heated. I'm not sure what source Bayless has.
As far as that incident affecting the play of Vijay and Phil, Tiger and Chris were 8 shots better than Vijay and 10 shots better than Phil and so they both would have had to shoot a 64 to be in a playoff. Highly unlikely in the last round of the Masters, with or without distractions.

Vijay would scrunch Mickelson in a cold deat heartbeat. Get a grip on reality.
Only thing that bothered me about the article was the little 'g' used for> Gods. Very disrespectful to them especially if Tiger thanked them.
Only if their names are "Gods". The we confuse the name with the type. Translating "There is only one god and Allah is his name" to "There is only one god and God is his name".
Although sometimes we expand that to talk about His name.

on the cover of last weeks Golf World mag they have a picture of Philly Mic walking and the spikes on his shoes are about an inch long (exaggeration, but they are looonnngggg). They've got to tear up the green where ever he walks... Dave

Can't figure out why I saw them walking up 18 laughing and smiling with each other. Looks like media fluff to me.

No wonder he swings with such balance and grace. I would to if my feet were nailed to the turf.

Exactly. If they were putting on a show for the media and/or patrons, they have acting skills greater than Olivier.

Lots of people have signed wrong score cards that have been filled in by others. Sometimes it results in DQ, sometimes it adds strokes. In this case, it resulted in a suspension.

Lefty would have resorted to a Chinese throwing star and would have quickly dispatched Mr. Singh.... On second thought, Sgt Philco, would have reached for the Krespy Kreme Bear Claw... he would have just sat on Vijay... Vijay would apply for a medical exemption next season ...
