The BBC showed the end of the third round, which was nice.
Tiger got a big break with the mud ball overnight. Did not see his birdies on 10 or 11, but he hit it close on 12. On 13, he got lucky as his 5 iron came up well short but somehow stuck on the bank in front of the creek. A decent chip and a very good putt gave him another birdie. Iron on 14 was pushed and slightly short, left him with a tough putt, 3 putt bogey. On 15, he made a bad decision after carving his tee right, he went for the green over the trees but dribbled into the pond on the right, a layup would have been the better option. Bogey. Good two putt on 16, did not see him play 17 or 18 as I was busy making the dinner inbetween.
Phil can rue some missed chances. 3 or 4 footer for eagle on 13, tentative putt, birdie only. 15 footer for eagle on 15, again a bit tentative, birdie only. Great shot on 18, but 1 club short and a 3 putt bogey. Ended 5 under, probably should have been 7 or 8 under
DiMarco missed putts on 12 and 14 that shaved the hole, made a bad swing on 15 when he also went in the water from perfect position on the fairway
Looks like Tiger's tournament to lose, I don't see anyone outside the top three having much chance with the Sunday pins.
