Oh my short game!!!

Matt Aamold 11 March 2005 20:36:54
My short game is Horendous! I've been told I strike the ball really
well, but when I get to pitching and chipping I'm attrocious! Put me at
50 yards with water behind the green and watch me flub it. I must have
had 7 chili-dips yesterday. Thank the golf gods for Sopporo

LOL. Often a round is defined by the front 9 and back 9. In Matt's case,
it was b4 beer, after beer.

Perhaps Tex holds the secret to golf. It's beer b4 the round, during the
round, after the round.

Are you referring to the beer? Or is there something I'm missing here?

The beer, it's the only thing that kept me from completly blowing up on
the back 9

Sum beer too. I estimate Matt is 6'2" 250 lbs. He was seeing double after
one 20 oz. can.

Already have it, read it about 2 years ago, my short game improved. I
actually got it back out last night and will be reading it again.

Hmmm....I use a putting grip. Never heard of using the baseball grip. Will
have to try it.

If it's not Scottish....IT'S CRAP!!!

Sorry, just popped into my mind

Hey Scott, I 'MIGHT' be able to get my wife golfin with us at RSG if
you've got a spot. She is getting interested in the game and wants to
give it a go. Just gotta get her some good shoes; READ: fashionable and
not manly and good clubs; READ: not manly.

And convince her that my old golf bag is a good one for her :-)

Good luck, Ocho; you're gonna be fine.

Straght from the best short game wizard I've ever seen. Thanks Todd,
see you at RSG NW

Yeah, (and I ask this of every green golfer thinks they want to play in
RSGNW) but is she really up for 3-4 rounds in 3 days? That takes a little
bit of experience and golfing stamina to handle. Just thinking out loud for
you. :-)

I'll keep her in mind.

P.S. Good call on the shoes (the ladies don't care too much about golf bags,
but the shoes mean everything).

It's not positive but I might be able to get her to where she is
somewhat comfortable. Just keep her in mind, if RSG fills up no big
deal; if not then I might be able to talk her into playing. Maybe
she'll just play the practice rounds, I do know that she wants to come
with me. And because she's not pregnant this time will be a little more
active anyway.

Many weekend golfers try to control distances on pitches by controlling
the speed of the downswing. Sure recipe for deceleration. Instead,
use the same tempo for all pitches but try to control the distance by
controlling the length of the backswing.

Thats's a good tip I had forgotten about completely. My short game is
poor but it always improves when I follow this tip remembering to have
a long upward follow through.A short backswing does not mean a short
follow through.By the way I'm not qualified or even close to it,a pro
told me that tip,I just keep forgetting it! I'll try to remember it
in future as my short game is killing my game at the moment.
