I took a look at a couple of golf sites { EBay, Discout something, 2 Ball something, etc } and there are some left over TA5 irons from whenever and they are cheap. I know that these irons were very popular. How are they to hit?
Right now I play an old set of Spalding but I like the weight at the bottom of the clubs. My clubs are cavity back, over size.
I've played TA5's for the past 4 seasons and I'm not ready to replace them yet. They are a smaller head which makes the longer irons harder to hit for me. I've replaced the 3 iron with a Nike CPR because of that. Now I carry 4,5,6,7,8,9,PW, DW, SW in the TA5's. I'm currently a 14 handicap which climbed from a 10 after I put Winn Excel grips on. Well, that's what I'm blaming it on! Golf Pride half cord on now so the handicap had better start coming down or I'll have come up with another excuse.
Try the TA5's, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The Cleveland's don't look as large.>
If you play them, own them, have owned them.>
You know the drill>

Just bought them this year, and have, so far, had mixed results with them. In cold weather, they are shorter than my Cleveland VAS+ (circa Corey Pavin early 90's), but in warm weather, they seem to be about 1/2 club longer. As far as forgiveness, they are about the same as my old ones- no better no worse...
I did a ton of research on them, and found most folks really like them....
If you have an old set of Spalding's, probably anything you buy would be an improvement...
