I bought a box of the new ProV1x balls yesterday and played a practice round with them this morning from the red tees (we have a Men's Club red tee tournament on Sunday). On 4 holes I hit an old and a new ball from the tee and the new ones are noticeably longer (+/- 10yds). I didn't notice any difference at all on second shots as both balls seem to spin about the same and stop nicely. Shot a smooth 72 with a triple on 7. Just good enough to put me in the middle of the pack on tournament day. Net 57 won last year... Dave
Follow-up to the earlier new pro-v1 thread ... I played today, and played the same new pro-v1 ball, and there is no doubt in my mind about two things:
a) it is noticeably longer
b) it was completely scuffed up, and I did not hit a cart path all day

hmmm, I just went and looked at the two balls that I used today and not a mark on them. I didn't play them for every shot but hit several tee shots and second shots with each of them. Mine are ProV1x...are yours ProV1's? Maybe that's the difference?? Dave
