I would like to ask a question, primarily of the experts on this forum. what muscles are used, in the upper body, which would include the arms, to achieve clubhead speed at impact? and, maybe more importantly, what muscles are not used, but are relaxed in the downswing? striker

Leaving the mental aspects aside, the pectoral muscles of the chest and the abdominal muscles (especially the obliques) play a big role in the swing. Less important are the biceps, triceps and deltoids. Of course, almost all the muscles in the back are very important, as are strong forearms and hands.
