The inaugural World Hickory Open Championship is to be held in Musselburgh in Scotland on July 11 2005.
The Championship has been created to take the modern golfer back in time to the birth of the great game and hickory shafted clubs with gutta percha balls. The inaugural event on 11th July 2005, will be held on the Musselburgh Old Links, home of the Musselburgh Old Course Golf Club near Edinburgh, in Scotland.
In future years, the event will go on a road show around the world and in 2007 the Competition will return to Musselburgh Old Course when it is anticipated there will be a further 9 holes designed by Donald Steel together with a practice range and a 6 hole juniour course.
