Stiff v. Regular Shaft Driver (Follow-Up)

Guest 1 March 2005 04:43:03
Tried the Cleveland 460 Stiff, then the R7 Quad stiff. I will NEVER,
EVER, EVER have a stiff shaft driver in my bag. In my experience, with
106 speed it was impossible to hit consistently. Pull hooks, absolutely
no feel at any point in the swing, and shorter distance.

And for those of your that can actually hit the R7, more power to you.
What a piece of crap. Must be built for a pro in mind. I know it's
cutting edge, but I encourage all of you to hit the old 460 with a
regular shaft, (not the 460 comp). Just try it.

So I have had an epiphany of sorts. Average distance of the tee last
three rounds was 277.4. Felt I needed to get more distance to take my
game to next level (currently 8 handicap). This prompted my
question..."Stiff or Regular". It turns out I have cut my Cleveland
down from 45" to 44" and now not only have more control, but feel 100%
more confident over the ball that I am going to rip it down the middle.
If I lose 5 yards, oh well. Thanks for all your input.
