Can anyone tell me what would be the equivalent of a 7-Wood in a hybrid club > format? ie. similar club length and loft.>

For me, the closest is the 19* rescue/hybrid.
I just built a 7 wood with a component head (Super Concord 24*), just for fun. I put a cheapie Galaxy light weight shaft in it. It falls short of what I get with my 16* rescue, but is a bit longer than my 19*. I will be trying another shaft in it soon.

One more thing, the 7 wood is 41 inches long, the 19* rescue is 40" (from memory).

I just put a 23 degree Quick Strike in my bag, 41" long. Seems pretty good, although it's probably got too much offset for me. Bit of a hook machine if I'm not careful. Hit a nice 180ish shot today to get through a narrow opening through trees, over a pond. Not a shot I would have likely tried with a 3 or 4 iron.

I took out the 3 and 4 iron, now I can also carry a fourth wedge (PW, Gap Wedge, SW, LW) Ok, I had the four wedges before, but now I can get down to the legal 14 club limit without feeling like I'm missing anything.

I replaced my 3 iron with an original Quickstrike 22. Much easier to hit and much more versatile. I tend to think of my hybrids (I also have a QS 18) replacing irons rather than woods. For me the ballflight is much more like an iron than a wood. I can hit low shots with my hybrids. That's something I could never do with a 5 or 7 wood. They just balloon up into the air. The offset is not too bad with the old Quickstrikes. I have a Quickstrike II 15 degrees in place of a 3 wood and that's a bit too hooky.
Golfsmith have just released a new Quickstrike Tour that looks like a QSII, but without the offset. I hope they make it to the UK!

Thanks for letting me know about this Simon, you've just givn me another Darksider project. I can pull the shaft off the QSII(UST Irod, stiff), and use the Quickstrick Tour. The QSII head goes onto a shaft that was pulled from a Taylor Made 3 Wood, I've got a friend who wants a regular flex utility wood.
