You might want to check Inverrary GC. it was the home of the Jackie Gleason later the Honda Classic for many years. Good test of golf. It's about a 20 minute drive back towards Ft Lauderdale from Jacaranda.
I played it in 1999 - was $38 on a Sunday cart included, but I imagine prices have gone up since then, and I think we had some kind of deal, but you might want to check it out.

Check on Deer Creek in Deerfield Beach (probably 20 minutes north). Gorgeous course. Not sure of the price though.
