Sen. Brownback (R-KS) on judicial filibusters
<http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/news/special_packages/election2004/11649198.htm>:

But should no deal emerge to break the stalemate, the region's other
Republican senators, Kit Bond and Jim Talent of Missouri, and Sam
Brownback of Kansas all said they would back Frist [...]

Brownback pointed out that "we've been hung up now four years" on
several of the nominees.

"There's no sign of it ending," Brownback said. "We're kind of at the
end of the string. I don't know what else we can do" other than change
the rules.

"We're going to do everything we can to stop it," said Sen. Sam
Brownback, R-Kan. He vowed to mount a filibuster, which allows a
minority of senators to block a vote on the measure.

Now _that's_ the kind of hypocrisy we grow here in Kansas!

You expect something else from the ability to filibuster?

You expect something else from the ability to filibuster?

No, but I might expect the guy who said the latter to not have different
views on the former. If not for the hypocrisy, that is.

In a perfect world your expectations might be realized. Politics is a
synonym for hypocrisy.

Interestingly enough I would describe him as honest - hypocrites are
not usually so frank.

I can't believe it. And people are strange. Our president's crazy.
Did you hear what he said?
