Who's the next one off the list?

Florida when Urban Meyer turns out to be a bust.

Tennessee. The SEC East might as well kick out Vandy and Kentucky and
apply for the NFL.

I can understand how frustrating losses to underdogs can be (believe
me, I know how that is), but where's this up/down cycle you're talking
about? Majors took over in '77, and after his first few season at UT
to get his feet wet, and except for the '88 season, he was always
within a reasonable margin of error from 9-3. That's fairly a
consistent record, after all.

Look, I know Fulmer's a better coach than Majors was. I just don't
always get the "kicking the old guy in the nuts" thing that happens in
sports these days, is all.

I say FSU when Bobbah turns into the next Joepa and goes insane.

Hmmm... possible. The thing is that FSU doesn't have the veil of
secrecy that PSU has. I mean, next to nothing comes out of PSU in
terms of information on who's making the calls, etc., etc.

Everyone KNOWS Bowden does next to no actual coaching: he's more of a
football administrator and recruiter than an X's and O's guy.

You're never quite sure how much actual input Paterno had on a given
play.

Bowden's able to maintain, simply based on his ability (when he isn't
hiring family) to get excellent coaches to actually deal with the
players. It's also one of the reasons for some of the "out of
control" aspects to the program, one might guess.
