Howard Dean: moonbat

John Rogers 19 May 2005 06:46:18
 (2005)

"There's corruption at the highest level of the Republican Party, and
they're going to have to face up to that one of these days, because
the law is closing in on Tom DeLay," Dean said in a telephone
interview before heading to an appearance today in Phoenix.

"I think he's guilty . . . of taking trips paid for by lobbyists, and
of campaign-finance violations during his manipulation of the Texas
election process," Dean said.

(2003)

"I've resisted pronouncing a sentence before guilt is found," Dean
said during the 2004 Democratic primary campaign. "I still have this
old-fashioned notion that even with people like Osama, who is very
likely to be found guilty, we should do our best not to, in positions
of executive power, not to prejudge jury trials."

:inappropriate for someone in his position (candidates for President are
:expected to behave Presidentially, after all)

I've yet to see a President utter a gutteral roar at the podium.

(Though that might spark up a boring press conference. "Yes, Helen?"
"Mr. President.." "HHHHHRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!")

A. And he caught hell for it, didn't he? It was called "unpresidential."
B. You (and I) are too young to remember when Presidents did, indeed,
engage in a lot of holler and bombast.

Funny think is that last night I was just thinking "I sure miss those

Seriously. Thanks.

Maybe if Howard Dean had suggested that Tom DeLay should be put to death
without trial (which is what the Osama quote was really about) you would
have a point here, instead of just being one wall in the 'winger echo
chamber.

Yeah, everyone agreed to back Kerry because his> war record made him "electable." What a joke Kerry> turned out to be (although I still think he's better> than Bush).>

The Dems just didn't really have anyone that was going to convince the
majority to remove W in 2004. I suspect that decades from now the geenral
consensus will be that Bush in 2004 was like unnamed Democrat in 1976.
Impossible to beat given the condition of the country and the attitude of
voters.

The Dems were powered by a strong hate-Bush attitude that just never had a
chance of being the majority which afterall..is basically what you need to
have to win a general election..unless you have an oddball 3rd party
candidate that impacts one or both parties.

Basically no Democrat gave more then 50% of the country a reason to replace
the President last year in what the vast majority of people felt was a "time
of war." The Dems miscalculated overplaying Kerry's "I am a war veteran"
monologues that disintigrated (ahem..as I predicted it would) in the summer
as a parade of veterans who (despite what partisan liberals liked to say
then and even now) defused his credibility in that area leaving...not a Hell
of a lot.

All that said, John Kerry IMO is as decent a man as has run at the top of a
major party ticket in my lifetime. He just happened to get his turn in a
year when we have like it or not one possibly the most decent man to occupy
the White House in a century.

Good call, Rogers. Right or wrong, at least> Osama Bin Laden acts out of religious conviction> instead of simple petty greed and avarice.>

There is no right or wrong question regarding Osama. He is wrong plain and
simple. As for DeLay and petty greed etc...he is no different then the 120
or so Congressmen who have taken more privately funded trips in the last 5
years.
