They are coming up here to play Bellevue in September. Bellevue ended DeLaSalle's 151 game win streak last fall.

An incredibly talented team that is one of the fastest in the country EVERY year, LB Poly doesn't call itself the Jackrabbits for nothing. Unfortunately, LB Poly (Cameron Diaz's alma mater) is the top farm club for U$C (5 or 6 in 2003). Over 50 grads have made the NFL! Wow!
However, my #2 nationally ranked Mission Viejo Diablos have been fortunate to blow the LB Poly perennial power house out two years in a row. And yes, MV also beat Concord De La Salle last year as well as Matt Leinhart's (Santa Ana) Mater Dei.

MV is coming up to play Issaquah HS (same league as Bellevue) in the Emerald City Kickoff Classic (that is the annual event that DLS got crushed in last year). Bellevue is the 4 time defending state 3A champion. Issaquah plays in the same league. That league is pretty tough considering that Issaquah didn't make the state playoffs last year even though they were ranked in the top 10 all season long! I intend to be at both of these feature games. It is interesting to see how our local teams stack up with national powers quite nicely.

Do you have a link for this? Searching the SI site didn't do me anygood.

See, this is all wrong.
It is know that Pac-10 feetball is teh suck. Therefore, the feeder high schools must be teh suck as well. I scoff in a westerly direction.

I didn't know that MV opened up vs. Issaquah. I wish the game were here as I can walk to the games. MV will be good, but can't possibly be as good as last year when we had the nation's toughest schedule I don't see us going undefeated in 2005. We lost nation's #1 QB Mark Sanchez to U$C and five lineman to Division I (Ohio State, Cal, UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State) and others to I-AA.
MV has four coaches with NFL playing experience and one of the most renowned H.S. QB coaches in the nation.. Definitely keep your eye on our 6' 2", 235# fullback Chane "the train" Moline as he will be the pride of the Diablos and maybe the best back in Southern California. He is white, but he is a load and reminds me of a Earl Campbell/Roosevelt Leaks. I believe that he has been recruited since he was a sophomore. UCLA & U$C have extended offers. Chane's two older brothers, Chase & Chone, will play for UCLA. As a sophomore against Long Beach Poly, Moline had a 80 yd TD run in which he broke 8 tackles, was then caught at the 10 yard line by LB Poly's speedsters and he shed two more tacklers. Awesome!

Has he qualified yet?
Maybe not, but Vince Ferragamo, Ralph Brown, , Lawrence Phillips, Brendan Stai, and Michael Booker did.
