People are still spending $$$$$ modifying Marshall amps to get that sound.
Why?

One of my fave's from the day. I had it on vinyl somewhere but I can't
find it. Crap, I won't be able to sleep until I hear it.

I'd never heard Eruption then it was Eruption this Eruption that until I
thought I would go mad. So I bought the CD.

It does nothing for me.

Mike Bloomfield's last chorus on "Tombstone Blues" is my idea of
greatest geetar snippetage.

Comparing Hendrix to EVH is like comparing red sauce to yellow. Hendrix is

Mmmmbwhahahaha! And in JarosWorld is David Lee Roth the greatest
vocalist of all time? And I suppose AC/DC, Foreigner and Journey are
the greatest rock bands of all time?>

Mmmmbwhahahaha! And in JarosWorld is David Lee Roth the greatest> vocalist of all time?

Roth was a clever lyricist and excellent showman, but a marginal vocal
talent. But that's not so bad for rock and roll - roger daltrey and mick
jagger had marginal vocal ability as well, but they put on a good show, too.
And I suppose AC/DC, Foreigner and Journey are> the greatest rock bands of all time?

AC/DC is top-tier. Foreigner and Journey had their moments but were far too
slave-to-the-corporate-dollar to kick out the jams.

Any list of "10 best rock bands" would have to include van halen, ac/dc, led
zeppelin, the who, guns and roses, and nirvana. The other 4 positions are
arguable.

Anyone who doesn't think evh is the #1 guitarist of the rock era has about
as much brain-wave activity as terri schiavo did two months ago.

You just looooove those absolute statements, don't you, moron?

E.V.H. as the #1 guitarist of the rock era is your (half-assed) OPINION.

You clearly believe that all of your opinions are incontrovertible
facts, but no one else does. In fact, it's safe to say that a
substantial portion of Usenet (that's had the misfortune of reading a
few of your posts, anyway) uses you as just the opposite type of
yardstick.

RSFC Rule #1: An opinion supported by Stephen Jaros is 99.44% likely to
be wrong.. abysmally wrong, in fact.

Jaros - I've always thought you're an imbecile. Now I find that you
have shockingly bad taste as well. van halen, ac/dc and guns and roses
are not even in the same area code as the who or led zep. nirvana -
well I'll grant you that they had their moments...

I could come up with about a dozen other guitarists whose jockstraps
would keep slipping out of evh's grubby paws.

If by "moments" you mean about 25 fantastic songs worth each.

evh was awesome in all areas - solos, riffs, and melody. spectacular.

hey, if you were around in mid-78 when VH1 came out, you'd know. his playing
