I looked back at "Get Fuzzy" for April 4 to check Bucky's line about eating St. Patrick's Day leprechauns ("They're, like, magically delicious.") and discovered that there are two versions of this strip. The Roanoke Times carried the one with Bucky's rundown of holiday foods, "Christmas Turkey, Thanksgiving turkey, Valentine's Day beaver, Easter bunny. It's tradition." (see also http://www.cafepress.com/cp/sotd.aspx?storeid=getfuzzy&date=04/04/2005&ge tnext=-1 ). Yet the on-line version at http://www.comics.com/comics/getfuzzy/archive/getfuzzy-20050404.html replaced the Valentine's Day double entendre with "Valentine's Day marmot." Apparently there were two versions for editors to choose from; the folks in Roanoke are either "with it" or they have no clue.

The Burlington Free Press can't be persuaded to carry Get Fuzzy, but we *do* get Mark Trail. (Sigh.)
I get it online in my mail from comics.com, and that version you referenced above, the Valentine's Day marmot, was what I got.

Houston Chronicle left it to the beaver.
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette also went with the beaver. I'm sure they have no clue. They've cancelled strips like For Better or Worse for rique stuff.
