Maybe if it said "the likes of THE murderer and US President George W.> Bush.", but it doesn't. It doesn't even imply that. This is so far of> a reach even for the wackiest of wackjobs that I can only assume you've> slipped down the slippery slope of kookdum to hit rock bottom.

Is it a reach? Sure, its not the most obvious example of bias out there.
If the author did not mean to imply anything, the wording could have been
rearranged better. Why include Bush's name, but not Peterson's in that
sentence? The other two (Jackson and Bush) are named, but Peterson
doesn't show up until several paragraphs later.

You are right. The media is liberally biased. It pains me to see how> the mass media market has produced a state of affairs that is so> personally offensive to you.

I'm glad you care.

Nope. Matt missed the word "and" in "a murder and Pres. Bush".

Now he'll have to spend the rest of this thread defending
and indefensible position rather than admitting to a simple mistake.

At least it'll keep him busy, and out of better threads.

I can see where Matt's coming from - the lack of indentification of
Peterson makes the sentence poorly written - hell, it could have
easily been Blake, for instance or any of a hundred other murderers,
like the Missouri woman who killed mother to rip out her
fetus/baby...

Plus, when read rapidly, one could gloss over the "and" due to the
capitalization right behind.

But, for me, it doesn't attain "WJW" stage - I'd just call it sloppy.

Read the first paragraph...

Don't get so worked up. The "murderer" the writer is talking about is
probably Laura Bush. I mean, she did commit vehicular homicide and all.
