A clarification on the Schiavo case

Alan Mundy 25 March 2005 00:49:20
Micheal Schiavo, at this point, CANNOT decide to reinsert the feeding tube
and turn care over to the parents.

The judge's decision that Terri would want the tube removed is the
operative one here.

If Schiavo suddenly changed his mind, *he* would have to appeal the
decision, and it's not likely he would win.

good point. For the record my wife and I have discussed this issue
years ago and we each have a living will. Neither of us want resouces
for our kids (or to the surviving spouse) to be drained while we lay
there with no hope of recovery. IOW, if I were Terri and could look
down on myself now I'd be pissed off.

Keep an eye out for the movie version of this book:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0375701214/002-6719520-7412002

Which is pretty amazing if you read it (I recommend you do). This
movie will star Jonny dep from what I hear. This controversy should
only help the profit of the movie.

No problem for him; he REALLY REALLY wants her dead.

Think how embarrassing it would be for him if there was a miracle and
she recovered. The scene where he introduces her to his current squeeze
and her 'stepkids' would be classic.

His wish has been granted 15 years ago.

There is as much chance of this happening as my dad coming back to life.

If she had be declared dead then it would have been over 15 years ago.

I don't care. Their motivations are irrelevant.
