I like and respect Ralph Kennedy. I don't always agree with what he writes, and in fact I consider him further left than I'm generally comfortable with, but he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously most of the time, and can realize when he's being irrational.
I don't think you're anyone to be taking "wackjob" shots at Ralph, if you know what I mean, and I suspect you do.

Yeah, Churchill is a certifiable nutjob who keeps confusing his own intense prejudices with some form of reality. So what. They're all over academe. What I don't understand is how someone so clearly incompetent as an academic keeps his job at what used to be considered a major university.

I've heard on O'Reilly there's been a big dropoff in out-of-state applications, but haven't seen any real evidence.

If Kerry had been elected, where would Wolfowitz be?
Who knows? That is beside the point - I can't vote him out.
I also can't stand a few Justices of the Supreme Court. When do I get to vote them out? I pay their salary.

No, it isn't.>
For those colleges and universities that subscribe to the AAUP guidelines on academic freedom (which is most of them), issues of academic freedom are what the AAUP says they are.
Matthew Hennig was cut from the Baylor football team for saying...

No...that's one of the downsides of LENGTHY CONTRACTS.

Exactly. CU chose to sign on the dotted line and now they're paying the price for their decision.
