 Amazing how "The Don" wears out his welcome everywhere he goes after a
while...

I can't figure out this trade from Edmonton's point of view. Loftus seemed
to fall out of favour with Matthews and was not even a regular. Edmonton
already signed Kelly Whiltshire who I assume will play safety since they
have Mobley, Gass and Grant at linebacker. In other words Edmonton got a
backup safety for guy who gets 1000 yards a year? Granted Vaugn is getting
older and may not have too many seasons left in the tank, but what they got
for him doesn't seem worth it.

Look at the Bomber-Stampeder trade involving Khari Jones. He's now an Eskimo
because the new Stampeder management released him. So in exchange for giving
up a good blocking back in Scott Regimbald and a good safety in Wes Lysack
the Stampeders are now left with an iffy blocking back in Randy Bowles.

Also, sometimes it is not the level of talent being that decides a trade but
a player's contract. The reality is things are still on the tight side for a
team's finances and unloading a bigger contract for a smaller one can be
seen as a legitimate option.
