Argo's traded Sandy Annunziata to the Esks for future considerations.
Two years ago Sandy was the 'face' of the Argo's line. The trade that sent Brady to Hamilton for Mihelic was prompted by the injury to Sandy.
That may the only way to judge the trade - a strange numbers squeeze. Sandy was strong, popular, a leader and a rally-point. Good backfill for Comiskey. Excellent move by the Esks.
This and the previous trade (Dan Comiskey to Hamilton) perfectly illustrates why Edmonton ALWAYS contends for Grey Cups while the Bombers ALWAYS Grey Cup pretenders. Nobody in the CFL is in more desperate need of O-lineman than the Bombers ... especially home grown ones. Brendan Tamen is on record as "being surprised" Comiskey wanted a trade. HUH? Hey Numbnuts isn't that part of your job? Great GM's know everything that is going on in the league they are in... Sadly the Winnipeg Media is happy to pitch the softball questions to these guys so the next round of golf isn't too awkward. Why work hard if nobody ever takes you to task on the situation? I see a 4 win season here in Bummerland as being optimistic.

Didn't leave much room for the pessimists did you?
Agreed about Edmonton backfilling a problem quickly and effectively. If there's a part I don't understand, it's the Argo's not working the situation - any of the other Western teams would likely not want Edmonton's problem to go away.
