ITV - Tell Them...

Black Shuck 24 April 2005 21:54:47
Not sure if this has been posted already, but tell them what a useless
bunch of assholes they are. Cutting for a advert break, in perhaps the
most rivetting F1 action for many seasons..

Black Shuck got up from the bar and shouted: :> Not sure if this has been posted already, but tell them what a useless > bunch of assholes they are. Cutting for a advert break, in perhaps the > most rivetting F1 action for many seasons..>

In addition, I have emailed BBC, and asked to buy back the rights to F1,
so we can enjoy the F1 action, the classic way, ad-free. Others might
want to do the same...

ITV have the contract for the next five years, so e-mailing the BBC is a
rather pointless exercise. You'll have to wait until 2009 before they get
the chance to bid again.

Haven't you all forgotten how absolutely crap BBC's coverage of F1 was?

Commercial breaks close to the climax of a program. Just another fucked up
american import.

No chance. The BBC is now dominated by Guardian reading "Wimmin" which is
why BBC1 and BBC 2 show little more than dumbed down daytime TV in the
evenings. Show F1!! The BBC could produce several extra episodes of
Eastenders or some other shitty makeover show with a screaming cow presenter
for the price of F1. i'd like to know what the BBC already does with nearly
3 billion pounds a year!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone remember which race it was last year that ITV, (at least in
the Granada region), cut to an ad break even closer to the finish than
last Sunday, so that we never actually saw the finish?

I'm writing to them, pointing out that they've made similar promises to
the one they've just made, and I want to cite this mess-up from last
year. But I can't remember which race it was.

Yeah, thanks Andy. I thought it was the one Ralf won too. Must have been
France then.

What am I talking about! Ralf didn't win one in 2004...

But there was definitely a race in which we missed the winner crossing
the line because ITV cut to adverts. It was in the following morning's
papers, when ITV blamed someone for pressing the wrong button or
something, and 'blacked out' race coverage in 'the north of England'.

I do seem to recall it was Ralf, or at least a Williams, that won the
race in question. But was it as far back as 2003? It seems much more
recent than that.

Cheers,
Robin
