Butt out at Bristol: Bristol Motor Speedway, the state's largest sports
facility (160,000 seats), has announced starting with this weekend's races
it will be smoke-free.

Smoking will be banned from all indoor portions of the track, including the
private luxury suites that surround the giant facility. Smokers will be
required to go outside the track or on the open-air concourse level.

All that exhaust and they're worried about cigarette smoke.
What's next, no alcohol.

Actually, at Daytona this winter, there was a beer limit on beer purchases.
You could no longer buy the bucket with 4 beers either.

I don't think concession stand sales are really the problem though. Its the
loons that bring more than they can drink in coolers. Banning coolers would
be a better idea.

I don't think banning coolers would be the correct way to go about it. As
families and non beer" drinking individuals also attend race and only bring
in Pop, Water, Tea, Lemonade and food in their coolers. Just reduce the size
of the coolers to just bring in a six pack. I know a six pack can make most
individuals drunk. however, it will still allow families to bring in the
food items and pop.

At Stateline Speedway (in NY) they have grandstands in the front
straightaway and the back straightaway.
They only sell beer in the front straightaway grandstands.
That leaves the whole back straightaway grandstands for people who don't
want drinking people around them.
It would be impossible to change any existing grandstands to non-drinking,
but it would be nice if whenever new grandstands were built at a NASCAR
track if they would make them no drinking grandstands.

But go ahead and breath the exhaust fumes. They're healthy. What's next?

It would be "better" if people would use a little common sense and courtesy
rather than have the need to have more rules jammed down their throats.

"If people would use a little common sense and courtesy..." we wouldn't
need as much government. But they never, *ever* do. And it's the ones
that squawk about big government so much that use the least amount of
common sense and courtesy.

And if people were honest, there would be no need for police.
And if people would
And if people would

And if people would
And if people would
It's a nice thought but it will never happen so saying "And if people would"
is living in never-never land.
