SunTrust Racing Qualifies Tenth for the Road and Track 250 at Laguna Seca

Laguna Seca, California (April 28, 2005) -The No. 10 SunTrust Pontiac
Riley team is hoping that history will repeat itself this weekend, as
they start from the tenth position on the grid in Sunday's Road and Track
250 at the U.S. Sports Car Invitational at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The
SunTrust team started from the same qualifying spot earlier this season
at the Grand Prix of Miami and came up the race winner. At the most
recent event in early April at the California Speedway in Fontana, the
championship points-leading SunTrust team started from the eleventh
position on the grid and finished second in the closest finish in Grand
American history.

Laguna Seca (May 6, 2006) -- It was a case of follow-the-leader today
at the qualifying race at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca circuit for Round
Six of 14 races in the 2006 Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series. This
afternoon's qualifying race was the second of five during this season
in a new format designed to reward additional points. Max "The
Ax" Angelelli, who was the qualifying driver in the No. 10 SunTrust
Pontiac Riley, started from the fifth position and finished in the same
spot, as did the Top Five competitors in the 30-minute formatted
qualifying event.

Series points leaders, the No. 23 Ruby Tuesday Porsche Crawford of
qualifying driver Patrick Long, who teams with Mike Rockenfeller, led
wire-to-wire in the Daytona Prototype-only race. Today's qualifying
race sets the grid for tomorrow's Road & Track 250 race with equal
points being awarded for finishing positions in both the qualifying race
and race event. Angelelli and Danish hotshoe Jan Magnussen will start
from the inside on the third row in the fifth spot in their No. 10
SunTrust Pontiac Riley Mk.XI.

Max Angelelli and Jan Magnussen, co-driving the No. 10 SunTrust Pontiac
Riley of Wayne Taylor Racing, will start Sunday's Grand-Am Rolex
Sports Car Series U.S. Sports Car Invitational from the front row
after qualifying second Saturday morning on the Mazda Raceway Laguna
Seca hillside road circuit outside Monterey, Calif. It will be the
third front-row starting spot in five Rolex Series races this season
for the SunTrust duo, who are the defending race-winners here and also
are coming off their first victory of the season three weekends ago at
Virginia International Raceway (VIR).

In the absence of Magnussen, who is pulling double duty this weekend as
co-driver of a factory Corvette in tonight's American Le Mans Series
race at Miller Motorsports Park outside Salt Lake City, Angelelli
made a rare appearance as qualifying driver of the SunTrust Pontiac
this weekend. In typical Angelelli fashion, he earned the front-row
position with a bit of drama involved. His fastest of 10 laps during
today's 15-minute qualifying session -- a 1 minute, 20.834-second
(99.671-mph) effort -- came on the very last one. It thrust him from
fourth to second on the grid and put him alongside the pole-sitting
No. 99 Gainsco/Blackhawk Racing Pontiac Riley of Jon Fogarty and Alex
Gurney that he held off for the race win here last year. The 99 car was
just five-hundredths of a second quicker at 1:20.787 (99.729 mph) -- a
new track record -- in earning the team's second pole of the season and
fifth consecutive front-row starting spot.
