GRANDAM: Laguna Seca: SunTrust Racing preview

Guest 29 April 2005 02:51:48
Laguna Seca, California (April 28, 2005) --The No. 10 SunTrust Pontiac
Riley Mk.XI is sporting a new SunTrust logo and paint livery this weekend
for the U.S. Sports Car Invitational at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Fans
around the world have become familiar with the former black-and-yellow
SunTrust race car, as it has graced Victory Lane ten times in 15 Grand
American Rolex Sports Car Series races, since it emerged on the scene in
January 2004. SunTrust Bank's recent merger with National Commerce
Financial provided a timely, strategic opportunity to introduce a new
logo and branding effort that had been under development at SunTrust.

New livery is not the only reason that the No. 10 SunTrust racing team,
with drivers Wayne Taylor and Max "The Ax" Angelelli, is at
Laguna Seca. Defending the team's lead in the 2005 Grand American
Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype class is a primary priority.
They currently lead the championship with 102 points, a 17-point margin
over second-place challengers Scott Pruett and Luis Diaz, in the No. 01
CompUSA Lexus Riley.

Laguna Seca, California (May 3, 2006) -- The No. 10 SunTrust Pontiac

Five of 14 races in Virginia last month and breaking into the Top Ten in
the points standings. This weekend the SunTrust team invited back Danish
racing champ Jan Magnussen to pair with Angelelli for another run for the
podium in the Road & Track 250 at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca circuit
on Sunday May 7th.

From one winning race track to another, and with the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series championship lead
stashed firmly in their hip pockets, the No. 10 SunTrust Pontiac Riley
team of Wayne Taylor Racing and its drivers Max Angelelli and Jan
Magnussen head to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for Sunday's running of
the Road & Track 250.

Angelelli and Magnussen scored their first victory of the season three
weekends ago at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) to extend their
streak of podium finishes in 2007 to a perfect 4-for-4. This weekend,
they return to the scene of their only previous victory together in 2006
with their sites set on widening their 11-point (127-116) lead in the
championship standings over the next-best team, the second-place No. 01
Telmex Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates entry.
