Altech SA Grand Prix meeting, to incorporate Formula Vee 40th Anniversary
The Altech SA Grand Prix race meeting, to be held at the Kyalami Grand Prix circuit on the 11th, 12th and 13th November 2005, will also play host to one of the two events, planned to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Formula Vee racing in South Africa. It was at Kyalami, back in 1965, that the category raced for the first time in this country and it is fitting, that the main event of the week long celebration will be run at the same venue. Even the inaugural event of the Grand Prix Masters series, the main event for the weekend, has an association with the history of Formula Vee racing. At least one of the competitors, that will be racing in the Altech Grand Prix Masters event at Kyalami, designed, built and raced a Formula Vee, claiming the 1967 Brazilian Formula Vee Championship, with five wins and two second places, from the seven events that where held that year.
