Kosuke Matsuura claimed his second top-six road course finish of the season this afternoon with a strong drive in the inaugural Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix. Matsuura, who started 15th, coped with a gearbox problem and brake issues towards the end of the 60-lap race to pick up several positions with a charge in the closing stages. His sixth-place run today is his seventh top-10 finish of the season.
Kosuke Matsuura's day was cut short by a spin on Lap 20 of the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix which resulted in damage to the #55 Panasonic ARTA machine. With tricky track conditions due to the constantly changing weather, Matsuura spun in Turn One on the permanent road course while attempting a pass on a lapped car. The ensuing 55-lap race was run under numerous yellow flag conditions.
