Yes, he had a great run.

Jr. did, too.

I'm a Ford fanatic and am pleased as punch that KB won the
race, but it wouldn't have been too bad to see MW get a
non-plate win.

I loved it when he said in the post-race interview, "I guess
I just ran out of talent at the end." Very self-deprecating and
probably not true. I think he got all he could out of his
car & tires. KB had something like 20 laps more rubber
than MW did.

Now hold on there Jack. While it's true that MW has tremendous sponsor
recognition, please don't attempt to paint him as having better recognition
than Jr. DEJr. is the current king of merchandising and advertising,
boasting way more dollars than MW could ever hope to. He's the hot property
right now.

Of course Jack didn't say Mikey is king over DEJ in sponsor endorsements,
but he is a close 2nd. What will the corporate world do when it is revealed
that DEJ got jealous of Mikey's #2 shilling & cuts him from DEI cuz Mikey
really can't win at other than Plate Tracks (0fer537 at non-Plates)?

Will they capitalize on Mikey's 0fer463 to his 1st Cup win?
How about his 0fer445 since his last pole?

Despite Kenny Wallace's SatNite VicLane pronouncement that Mikey
is the greatest driver there ever was, ignoring the fact that
Mikey is the only one who will give Kenny a Cup ride, does that make it true?

Which owner in their right mind would offer Mikey a Cup ride in '06?
Maybe BAM will replace their resident 'expert' Schrader with another
'expert' let's talk about me, Mikey?

There is a place for Mikey, but it sure ain't amongst the greatest Cup drivers.

Russ, I'm sure you are probably right about Jr bringing in more dollars;
however, MW seems more articulate and mentions the names of his sponsors
more often when he gets behind a mike. Some people find that to be
irritating, but he gets their name out consistantly. There is a good
chemistry between the two when they appear together on commercials. I like
Jr and it is inarguable that he has a bigger fan base. It just seems that ad
dollars have the potential to go a lot farther with MW. NASCAR fans that I
know can name more of MW's sponsors than Jr's. Also MW is happily married
and less likely to draw negative publicity. MW probably will not be
spotted in the strip clubs as was the case in Vegas with Jr. That is why I
think MW gets better recognition IMHO.

Jack

I'm not a complete idiot. Several parts are missing.

I went to racing-reference.com to verify that MW is in the top 100. All of
these guys have got 4 wins on the all-time list:

68 Lloyd Dane
69 Bob Flock
70 Charlie Glotzbach
71 Eddie Gray
72 Bobby Hamilton
73 Pete Hamilton
74 Parnelli Jones
75 Jeremy Mayfield
76 Hershel McGriff
77 Joe Nemechek
78 Eddie Pagan
79 Ken Schrader
80 Morgan Shepherd
81 Nelson Stacy
82 Billy Wade
83 Michael Waltrip
84 Glen Wood

Not among the greatest--but not nothin' neither.

Fair enough.

He's working on his verbal skills to get ready for his

So you have noticed that too. The wife and I have wondered if he is
spending some time with a speech pathologist. He used to have a really hard
time with words containing the letter s.
