The investigation into the death of former champion Ayrton Senna was finally
closed this week when the Italian appeal court acquitted members of the
Williams team. Senna died after an accident during practice for the San
Marino Grand Prix at Imola in 1994.

Williams' then-designer Adrian Newey and technical director Patrick Head
were acquitted of manslaughter in 1997, a verdict that was upheld by an
appeal court in 1999. The Italian court ordered the case to be reheard in
2003 due to "material errors" in the legal process.
