Despite the 2007 GP2 Series finishing last Sunday, at Valencia, work doesn't stop for Racing Engineering and the other teams competing in the F1 feeder series. This Thursday they all will be together again at Jerez for two days of testing that are in fact the first steps of the 2008 season, when GP2 will start a fresh season with the use of a totally new car.
This week's test at the southern Spanish track will be carried out still using the current cars and are mainly intended to evaluate new drivers for next year. For this reason Racing Engineering will have at Jerez three drivers, in addition to their team driver for last two seasons, Javier Villa, a brilliant second at the last race of the year and sixth overall in the series, also testing for the Spanish outfit will be the Norwegian Thor- Christian Ebbesvik and the Venezuelan Ernesto Viso.
