 F1 training at the Paul Ricard HTTT for the coming Monaco Grand Prix

In prevision to the Monaco Grand Prix which will take place on May 22nd,
the Paul Ricard HTTT welcomed today the following teams, starting a three
day test session: Bar Honda (Anthony Davidson / Enrique Bernoldi),
McLaren Mercedes (Alex Wurz / Kimi Raikkonen), Panasonic Toyota Racing
(Olivier Panis / Ricardo Zonta), Red Bull Racing (David Coulthard et
Vitantonio Liuzzi), Renault F1 Team (Franck Montagny / Heiki Kovalainen)
as well as Sauber Petronas (Felipe Massa).

 F1 Teams Renault F1 (Fernando Alonso/Heikki Kovalainen), Ferrari (Felipe
Massa), McLaren Mercedes (Kimi Raikkonen/Juan Pablo Montoya), BMW Sauber
(Nick Heidfeld/Robert Kubica), Panasonic Toyota
Racing (Ralf Schumacher/Jarno Trulli), Red Bull Racing (Christian Klien/
Robert Doornbos) and Toro Rosso (Scott Speed) start a new test session at the Paul Ricard HTTT.

During this first day drivers used the 2D SC short track solution (3,593 km). This slow and
sinuous track solution uses the Hairpin, north and south Chicanes in the Mistral straight, the Signes
chicane and the Petit Beausset.

 Two F1 teams are testing at the Paul Ricard HTTT this week. During this first
sunny day, Ferrari (Felipe Massa/Luca Badoer) and McLaren Mercedes (Kimi Raikkonen/
Gary Paffett) shared the 1E SC Short track solution (5,216 km) with a track temperature
going up to 47°C during the afternoon.

Felipe Massa set today's fastest lap in 01:24.027 and set the overall
best lap time on this track solution, improving the time set by Jacques Villeneuve (BMW Sauber)
during the May test session.
