Danica to Andretti Green in '07, Report Says

An Indianapolis TV reported Sunday night that Danica Patrick will join
Andretti Green Racing in 2007, but the report could not immediately be
verified.

WXIN, the local Fox affiliate, led its 10 p.m. news with the report,
which cited unnamed sources. Patrick's publicist, Brent Maurer, said
Sunday night that Rahal Letterman Racing would not comment on the
matter. AGR officials could not immediately be reached Sunday night.

Patrick said Saturday during an ABC interview before the Firestone Indy
200 that she would prefer to remain in the IRL IndyCar Series in 2007.
On Friday, she indicated that a preliminary offer had been made from an
unnamed NASCAR Nextel Cup, but that her preference to stay in Indy cars
would play a role in her decision.

Michael Andretti, co-owner of Andretti Green Racing, indicated Friday
that he might have interest in signing Patrick for 2007.

"I like Danica," Andretti said during an interview Friday evening at
Nashville. "I've always been a fan of hers. I think she can win races. A
lot of times she's the best one of the weekend on her team. I think she
can get the job done, given the right situation. Do I like her? Yes.
Would I be interested? Probably."

Patrick's contract with Rahal Letterman Racing concludes at the end of
the season. Two AGR drivers, Dario Franchitti and Bryan Herta, also will
reach the end of their contracts, and it is not clear whether they will
re-sign with the team. However, the Fox report said Herta will not
return to the team next year.

The Fox report also quoted AGR co-owner Kevin Savoree as saying, "She's
a great driver, and she's going to make somebody very happy next year."

However, Savoree did not confirm the report, saying the team was focused
on 2006. "We have four great drivers and we want to win some races," he
said.

No surprise. AGR's sponsor hunters are better than Rahal's.
