30 test limit...

Andy Carpenter 11 May 2005 23:49:46
Considering the 'gentlemens agreement' to limit testing to 30 days, the
group of 9 are testing one hell of a lot at this end of the season.
Seems to me that the bigger teams will have used up their 30 days pretty
quick, and then be left with nothing in the latter half. Unless of
course, the 30 day thing is a bit of a farce and they don;t have any
intention of sticking to it - probably citing Ferrari as the reason why ;)

The season lasts for 32 weeks and we will be ten weeks into the season
this weekend. So roughly a third of the way through the season so far.
If they tested at roughly the same rate throughout the season we would
expect them to have completed about 10 days by now.

Williams 14
McLaren, BAR, Renault 13
Toyota 11
Red Bull 8
Sauber 7
Jordan 5
Minardi 3

So some teams are a bit ahead of an even schedule, however, I assume that
the agreement maintains the testing ban during August, so they are in fact
right on schedule.
