LOL... no doubt.... it had to be a man that came up with these
pairings if they honestly believed that there would be a contest here ~
they may as well have just given Jamie a free pass to the final four.

So, um how's that "Jamie winning races" thing going? At least he has
that whole "looking good while he is losing" thing going for him.

I think Biffle has proven that he should have been ROTY.

What makes you so sure Jamie is going to win that one.
If Jarrett can beat out B Labonte and Stewart can beat Harvick and as
a matter of fact J Gordon can beat R Gordon, I don't think sexiness is
the main criteria for picking.

In many women's minds, the size of a man's bank account is proportionally
related to their sexiness. ;-)

Biffle has proven no such thing ~ sure he has put together a string of
good races for himself so far this year ~ how shocking, since the last
two champions have come from that shop... but if Biffle should have won
ROTY then he would have won it, but it wasn't even close... get over it.

If he was smart, he would have run for his life when she decided being on

It was close until it got to that voting aspect where everybody just voted
for the young pretty boy.

Since then Biffle has won race after race while Jamie has been best known
for his string of girlfriends.

Years ago I said that Biffle was better than Jamie and as it turned out
Jamie has won nothing in Winston-Nextel Cup since that bogus ROTY gift. In
contrast, Biffle has won major races on the important tracks time after
time.

another moronic comparison: Cope has been racing over 20 years longer
than Jamie and Jamie has already passed him in both top 5s and top 10s
and has an average finish of about 10 spots higher than Cope.

BTW ~ you may wanna wait until the season is at least half done before
you continue crowing about Biffle ~ he has yet to finish a season
higher than Jamie in the points.

It is not even fair to compare a Gnassi entry to a Roush entry in the first
place.

I am over it. I said back then that Biffle would prove to be a better
driver. So far...he is proving to be the better driver. McMurray is
proving to be a slightly better than the rest driver, but nowhere near
living up to his hype.

no, that really wouldn't work as an excuse for Biffle's performance,
his teammate, Carl Edwards ~ the fourth car in the stable now, seems to
have gotten his act together a whole lot faster than the three years
that it took Biffle ~ a far more experienced driver than Carl. If
we're gonna compare drivers, my choice would be comparing Biffle to
Edwards ~ and my guess is that Carl is gonna be outperforming Biffle
consistently before the end of the year.
That whole "Dodge is struggling" thing is not holding water. Last time > I checked Rusty, Sterling and Ryan were all in the top ten in points.

really?!?!... how many races have those drivers won this year?!?!...
how many have they won in the past two years when compared to Fords and
Chevys?!?!... things are not equal between the makes and different
shops in NASCAR, and if you don't see that, then it's because you don't
want to see it.
Of course, if you are gonna argue that the only meaningful stat is the >> number of races a driver wins than you had better be prepared to say >> that your other boy (Busch) has no business being the reigning champ ~>
yes he did. he won it according to the rules. the rules never stated > that he had to have the most wins.

nor do you need to have more wins to be a better driver.... Jamie could
very well become a champion without ever winning another race.
as he certainly didn't accumulate more wins than any other driver last year...>>
so, which one is it Moses?!?!... consistency or wins?!?!?>
I would rather win five races and have five DNFs than have 10 > consecutive 11th-15th place finishes.

I would rather be a champion ~ which requires consistently finishing in
the top 10 throughout the season ~ something Jamie does, which Biffle
hasn't quite gotten a handle on yet.
Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if Mears turns out to be the better > driver between he and McMurray.

of course that's possible ~ in your world, where stats and facts mean nothing.

I'm not taking anything away from Jeremy ~ he deserved to be in the
chase based on the timing of his performance, but statistically, he
didn't have nearly as good a season as Jamie did.... of course you
would think Mayfield did better, again, 'cause stats and facts clearly
mean nothing to you ~ all that matters to you is your biased opinions.

So why can't he win a race? Isn't that the point of the entire thing?

He has won races.

LOL... ya know, from what I have read, Sterling may be jumping the gun
a bit by assuming that he definitely won't have a ride with Chip next
year. It seems that he believes that will be the case only because
Chip hasn't talked to him about it yet, not because he has told
Sterling that he is out.... maybe Chip is still weighing his options
and will come to the conclusion that Stremme isn't worth the risk and
Reed isn't ready yet and decide to stick with Sterling for one more
year (which is all that Sterling wants to do anyway).

well, yeah.... that would make sense... I think it was in Cup Scene
that there was an interview with Sterling, he said that he is usually
in contract negociations by now, and since he hasn't heard from Chip,
he is assuming that Chip isn't interested.

yep... sometime during the off-season he was asked if he was leave with
Rusty and Mark this year, and he said no, that he wanted to leave at
the end of 2006.

Hrm, I'm surprised he didn't say that on 'inside' a couple weeks ago
when Schrader and Mikey asked him about it. Well that puts a whole

of which Jamie has done neither, so I don't really see why this
arguement continues.

Jamie hasn't won in his own equipment.
Jamie has been consistant, but not ran well enough to make the top 10.

These are facts and you can try to find whatever excuse you would like
to help you rationalize his shortcomings, but that is just the way it is.

my stat is JAMIE HASN'T WON A RACE IN HIS OWN EQUIPMENT. That was my >> entire point>

I'm sure if he had Roush or Hendrick equipment he already would have.

Well, I sure as hell am not crying for him. Dodges from every other
"major" team has won a race since Jamies rookie season. If their team is
coming up short, that isn't Roush or Hendrick's problem.

Let's see, you have blamed everything under the sun, except for Jamie
and his team. Hrm. Interesting.>

I think he was on Trackside and they asked him if he was going to retire
and he said something to the effect that he didn't plan on it, but knew

That's sorta what he said on inside, I didn't hear him say one more year

please stop ignoring the fact that his "subbing" for Sterling is still a win.
Sometimes it isn't the arrow, but rather the Indian.

and sometimes it is the arrow.
like the fact that Jamie hasn't won a race in three years while other > dodge teams have?

it hasn't been three years.... and since Jamie's win there is only one
Dodge who has more than one win: Jamie, Rusty and Jeremy all have
single wins ~ only Newman is a multiple race winner.... when a make is
only winning 10% of the races, and they have about 20 drivers entered,
it's gonna take awhile for Jamie's turn to come up again.

I didn't realize they took turns. I thought they all had an equal chance
to win.>

Kevin Lepage has never scored 25 top 10s in a single season... Kevin
Lapage didn't score more points than all but six drivers last year...
Kevin Lepage never won ROTY..... Kevin Lepage's average finish is more
than 10 spots lower than Jamie's.... Kevin Lepage is not on the short
list of drivers that have won in all three series ~ so again, your
comparison is completely irrelevant.
what is innaccurate?

it may not be too exciting ~ but at least you would be able to back up

of couse, I wouldn't expect that you would know this (because it is a
*fact*, and they do seem to escape you) but it's been fairly well
documented that Jamie is one of the most sought after drivers for many
of the top rides that have opened up in the past two years ~ but he
isn't going to "get out his contract" until the end of next year ~ when
I expect that he will make a change unless the state of the Dodge
program has changed.
2002. it is now 2005. 3 seasons (i was referring to years as seasons)

well, since his win came at the end of 2002 and it is now only the
beginning of 2005, saying that it has been 3 seasons is a bit of a
stretch.
I didn't realize they took turns. I thought they all had an equal > chance to win.

that's kinda the point Moses ~ they don't *all* have an equal chance to win...

as I said, you still haven't backed anything up with anything *true* or > *meaningful*...>

so, you are saying that he either A)won a race driving the 42 with his
own team of 2+ seasons that he should be used to or B)he has lived up to
his potential and is a threat to win on most Sundays.

Is that what you are saying?

at one time, kevin lepage was in the top ten. having a cup of coffee >> in the top ten doesn't get you anything. that is like saying you are a >> "starting shortstop in MLB" because you got called up to the majors to >> fill in for someone and then went back to the bench.>
Kevin Lepage has never scored 25 top 10s in a single season...

and what did that get McMurray? A finish outside of the top ten.

I never said he wasn't consistant. I said he was better than average.
But he IS NOT GETTING IT DONE when it comes to being there at the end of
a race with a threat to win.

Kevin> Lapage didn't score more points than all but six drivers last year... > Kevin Lepage never won ROTY..... Kevin Lepage's average finish is more > than 10 spots lower than Jamie's.... Biffle is. Biffle has won more Cup races than McMurray even threatened
to win.

what is innaccurate?>
so far, every stat you have cited or comparison you have made... they > have been either inaccurate, irrelevant or both.

How are they irrelevant or inaccurate?

Has he won driving the 42? No. (accurate and relevant to the fact that
the original discussion was the fact that he hasn't lived up to his
hype..ie, actually winning races)
at least I have an arguement instead of "it's everyone else's fault >> but jamie's">
really?!?!... then make it ~ so far all you have done is spew nonsense.>

take off your mopar tinted glasses and actually LOOK AT THE GOD DAMNED
FACTS. Yes, I am sure Jamie is a hot guy to look at, but that doesn't
win you fuckin' races.

When Jamie actually wins another race, then you can talk about how great
he is. Until then, he is a top 15 driver, nothing more.>>
well how exciting is it to talk about wimmer, riggs and vickers?>
it may not be too exciting ~ but at least you would be able to back up > an argument about them.

What, that they haven't lived up to the "hype" that was never placed on
them in the first place?>

I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE MINOR LEAGUES. If Adam Dunn went down to the

Yeah, in Sterling's car.

Todd Bodine finished top 15 driving Tony Stwart's car. He went from 25 to
15 in 40 laps. If he drove the last 100 laps; TS had the fastest car and
Todd Bodine might have won that race. IMHO, that doesn't count for crap.
Since Jamie Mac got in his own car; he lost the quality of Sterling
Marlin's equipment/crew; and now he can't get a Post-Silverfish win. You
put Jamie Mac in Jeff Gordon's car; and he will win some more races.
