An old saying about Fl. weather, if you don't like it now wait ten
minutes, it'll change. Sprinkling now, we're in full stop mode, looks
nasty south of us....

If we're going to have a discussion about maps how about the
quintessentially British obsession with weather which is after all highly
relevant

I'm quite taken with www.metcheck.com currently but I could be persuaded
that there are others with nicer graphics. It's certainly spot on for my
other passion of hill walking and I got the URL from a mountaineering site.

Whichever site you look at it's not looking good for the Docks. You'll spot
me in my thermals!

Until I forgot my password, I used to use avbrief.co.uk to keep an eye on
the weather for rowing. Their wind forecasts seem to be very accurate, as
long as there's an airport close-ish to where you're rowing. Heathrow works
pretty well for the Tideway.

Sunday, on the other hand, looks an altogether nicer day, irrespective
of which site. (I also like http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ for its wind

I hate to sound like an anorak but the BBC 5 day forcast is appalling,
always wrong and nearly always contradicted by its own forcasts on the
television. Yesterday is was saying that Sat and Sun in the South East Coast
were going to be sunny all day - everywhere else correctly said that it
would be wet and cold. I suspect that although you can put your post code in
it still just gives you a regional version.

We should hit 82 or 83 today. Spent Friday, Saturday, Sunday on the boat.
Hoping to get a little rain this week. If it happens, it will be the first
rain in over 130 days, an all-time record without rain.

The levees break each year. Mostly got farmland. Unfortunately they have
let developers build subdivisions below water level around the delta. And
the levees were built a 100 years ago, with who knows what. And when we
passed the property tax limitation in 1979 there were exceptions for special
districts. The levee districts were not in that exception.

Speaking of the beast ...

Read some correspondence from a fellow M5 owner who just returned from the
"M-Experience" performance driving school in SC. He and his wife had a
blast. BMW puts you up in the local Marriot, wines and dines you. All you
have to do is get there, spend a day on the track using one of the BMW
provided M5s. Depending on how many people schedule that day determines how
much track time everybody gets. In his case they only had 3 attendees that
day and they basically used the track all day. The final "test" is
attempting a full circuit of the track in a controlled drift.

I am going this spring. Mrs.E may go as my guest if she's not feeding her
horses.

On a more pleasant note, record highs. Something that amazes me, Miami
