BAR to join Bernie and Ferrari party

Brian Sullivan 26 April 2005 19:58:38
My bet is that the ultimate outcome of this:

http://www.planet-f1.com/news/story_19323.shtml

will be that BAR mysteriously will change sides and leave the opposing
"manufacturers" group to join the Bernie and Ferrari group.

Nahhhh...they let Tyrell off, so why wouldn't they let his team's morph off.

They let Benetton off for much worse.

Not exactly, unless you treat being excluded from the championship etc
etc as "getting off".

As someone in law school (or even out of law school practising as an actual
lawyer these days, who knows) you should surely realise the two essential
flaws in that statement.

Murder = delierate taking of another life with pre-meditation.

So the Senna case was never about murder, it was about culpability for
manslaughter, something very different.

And then you'd have to prove the active involvment of both Williams and Head
there. So far as I recall, it was Newey who stood to take the most flak
(and
the most significant fine or jail term in the event of a guilty verdict).

Yes, funny how all this focus was on Senna's steering column and not on the
existence of a rock solid concrete wall on the outside of a 190mph corner...

Because whatever caused Senna's car to leave the road, there is no doubt
that
the poor run-off and lack of tyre barrier in front of the wall (thus causing
the frontal debris to rebound back into the cockpit area, whereas with a
deep
tyre barrir it would have remained lodged under a pile of rubber) was solely
responsible for the fact of his death.

The tyres were warm on lap 7 when he crashed. Senna, with a fully loaded
car, clocked 1 min 24.887sec on the sixth lap of
the restarted race. The 3rd fastest lapon the entire weekend. (and morons
like you think someone could post that time on cold tyres).

Let me get this straight: You honestly believe they murdered Ayrton Senna?

I believe their ill-conceived decisions, added to hasty modifications
poorly executed in their supervision, and the culpability revealed by
their stonewalling and coverup efforts after the fact, support the
allegation of criminally negligent homicide, which I think might be
murder 3rd over here. ...So, yes.

Autoracing is dangerous, it's not shouldn't be selfishly dismissive of
life.

Newey is not a principle of Williams F1 "Engineering", and, iirc, was
not present at the event.
