"F-Ferrari" hasn't lost any lustre like that. :)>

Did you hear Rahal's son during an interview on SpeedTV's Star Mazda
coverage? He said he'd rather race Sebring or LeMans than Indy because
Indy isn't near what it used to be.

I'm beginning to like that boy. :)

The Indy 500 with few exceptions, is just another inter-series race of no
significance at all. It certainly has no international significance to
anyone who faithfully follows the sport.

Seems to have enough significance to keep you posting here.>

So what's your excuse for posting here? You don't discuss the races. You only
post about the crowds and the Chumps obsessions.

Thank you for addressing the point. I respond to the obsessions.

I didn't know this was the Indy 500 newsgroup. I thought it was a newsgroup
about the Indycar (American Open Wheel Genre). At least that is what the
charter was for.

The Rahal kid is the future of Americans in open wheel by the way. The same
Americans that you said we needed at Indy so badly just a few years ago. Do
you want people willingly going to Indy or should they be dragged there
kicking and screaming. I think you have to make that prize more enticing --
like it used to be. Right now it is a ho-hum race. Nobody is chomping at the
bit to get on a trophy with Buddy Lazier and Buddy Rice.

Carey, you and your cohorts are the biggest problem around here. It is all
about attack and cry. You insult and flame, snort and whistle, use
derogatory comments; and when someone does it tio you, then you act like a
vestal virgin.

I am sure that I'll get flamed for saying this, but unlike you I can live
with the insults. Maybe if you found a little integrity you could do the
same. And maybe no one would be constantly attacking your intelligence.

I still say we need American kids in open wheel racing. That is probably
the biggest reason for the downhill slide. Right up there with changing the
sport from oval racing to European style road/street racing. And I don't
say this to be xenophobic. I have no problems with anyone from anywhere
competing. Hell, plenty of folks from around the world playing pro
baseball, but they don't try and change the game to cricket.>

I attack, cry, flame and insult? About the only derrogatory comment I have
ever made is to call your ilk CHUMPs (not chumps, big difference) where I,
on the other hand have been insulted and flamed far worse. Not crying here.
I really don't care. What happens on this forum is not exactly the most
important thing that I do during the day. That is why I don't bother to try
and find out anyone's "secret identity", nor do I go about and try and find
the source of someone's post.

I guarantee that if the most prolific posters here were to all meet in a
room, face to face, the ones here that truly attack and insult in writing
would be meek and mild. Me? I wouldn't change a thing. What I have posted,
I would also say. Anonymity makes the weak ones brave.

Face it, anytime there has been a pro-IRL post, that individual gets slammed
beyond compare. Maybe that is why there isn't a whole lot posted here about
racing anymore. And for you to state that myself and a few others are the
biggest problem here makes me think that you don't read Sweeney's (or his
host of identities) Allan Pagan/Wascally Wabbit/(Whatever his latest name
is) or several others' posts. I can also assure you that I have never
threatened anyone here, but I have surely been threatened.
I am sure that I'll get flamed for saying this, but unlike you I can live> with the insults. Maybe if you found a little integrity you could do the> same. And maybe no one would be constantly attacking your intelligence.>
No, I won't flame you, unless being called a CHUMP is a flame, but it is
more of a description of behaviour.

My whole point about Rahal the minor is that his perspective on what Indy is
is only based upon a limited time, and, of course, influenced by his father.

Rest assured, I will be flamed for my comments far more than you will be for
yours. I can even see Cy the Photo Guy making this his CHIMM CHIMM post of
the weak.

Maybe someday we can talk racing again...like the F1 and Nascar newsgroups. They
are no more civil than here, but they are uncivil about racing, unlike here.
