Does any one know of any conference that restricts the number of teams going to the NCAA tournament to 1? It seems to me that some time ago there was a team that ...Coastal carolina?.....that had a great record but lost its tournament and could not go because of a league rule that only allowed 1 team from its conference? Any idea who or why?

I believe the Ivy League does (not that it will ever be an issue).
It could be on the odd year that Penn and Princeton both have teams competing for the conference championship, one of which also having a "resume" worthy of at-large entry into the tournament.

Troll. Last November, France thrashed Aus and Wales and England pushed NZ and Aus close. (and need I mention SA?)
You're not the same bloke who came on here before the 97 Tour claiming that the Lions could never beat a S12 side are you? Welcome back!
We need all the uninformed loonies we can get here, never seem to have enough of them from the SH. Well, you made me laugh anyway - nice to see that there are still some people out there who are totally fucking clueless.

In a match between a top S12 side and a a 6N> side (including France) I would expect the home team to win.
So, if I'm reading you correctly, you're saying that a top S12 side is going to be better than any 6N side if playing at home? And you believe that do you? Do you have any evidence for it? Let's have some examples from recent tour please...
Loosely translated it means "one who is indigenous to New Zealand", but > latterly it has been used to describe New Zealanders in general. I have > heard it used to refer to the entire southern hemisphere, but somehow that > doesn't work for me, the Japanese just don't fit into the picture.
As a resident of the southern hemisphere I'm appalled by the number of people from the SH with no clue about rugby who post to this group. It seems to me the be second only to the number of people from the NH who know nothing and post to this news group. And don't get me stared about the western hemisphere.......
That said, using the first half of one 6n game as the evidence for SH superiority would seem to be aiming for a new record in ignorant posting. Congratulations koos, you're lowered the bar. It's now a waiting game before the next unimformed moron decides to grace RSRU with their attempt at your crown.

J.
Quite, but an absence of any sort of reasoned analysis doesn't preclude a grain of truth. As Apteryx has already pointed out, 6N tours of NZ (France and Lions apart) have been characterised by frequent losses to NPC sides, which most people would accept are weaker than S12 franchises.

Is this a good time to mention how pleased we are to have a visitor of your stature here, Mr J, and an Australian as well. You'll have to forgive some of the members of this newsgroup. Some have trouble parking their Jump Jets before Mummy tucks them into bed time at 1930 hours, and some do their posting from the computer lounge at their local hostel for people whose brains are orbiting Mars.

Yes, the rolling resistance force is almost constant with respect to velocity. But you were talking about the required power (Watts) and since power is force times velocity that will be about twice as great at 40 km/h compared to 20 km/h.

This elderly codger was somewhat surprised, even amazed, when his wife entered their bedroom one night with a length of soft, beautiful, red velvet, rope.
She sort of snuggled up to him and purred into his ear; "Tie me up!, then you can do anything you want !
Very excited (for the first time in many months) he proceeded to do exactly that. He tied her up very securely for sure.
Then he drove down to U.S.A. Billiards for nine games of One-Pocket !

I was just curious what your thoughts were on my first century that I completed in 6 hours flat. There were a few hills and 10-15 mile head winds part of the time. I am 45, 150 lbs. and I had an average heart rate of only 130 for the century. I average 17 miles an hour. I made a couple of observations. I am using an p3 Tri Bike. Every once in a while, I would feel the bottoms of my feet on the outside edge. I am an overpronator when I run. In this area I am very sensitive for a few minutes towards mile 80. On the outside, on the bottom of my foot, maybe some insoles could help. I also started out when it was 45 degrees in the morning and it ended up being 65 degrees and sun with a little bit of a draft. I only went pee once at the 3-hour mark. I brought along 3 - 1 liter bottles. I had water, one goo and one Cliff bar. Right before the ride, I had about 200 calories of dry cereal. So I didn't seem to be famished at all, but I did run out of water in the last hour. It wasn't too bad. At the six-hour mark, I had to pee pretty bad too. How many calories might I have burned? Maybe around 3,000. My neck is a little sore, but for the most part when I climbed hills I sat up, stretched and did some neck exercises. My saddle was sore. Afterwards I felt somewhat fatigued. My shoulders and knees were sore. My glutes will probably be sore in the morning. It was an interesting experience, unlike a marathon, which I can typically do in 3 hours. I suppose I can recover from this century pretty fast. Maybe I was under fueled. I appreciate any insight that you might have. By the way ijust finished my 5 th century in the last 10 days and my glutes are toast..training for ironman..250 calories per hour?? tia

I like to have gels more often than your 1 per race. I find it best to take one before I start to feel the need to take one.

I'd try it out both ways and see which made me happiest. I'll generally take the lane if the terrain is such that I can expect maintain a good clip (few stops, flat or downhill), and I'll take an unoccupied sidewalk if it's a good sidewalk and conditions are such that I would be travelling slower than my usual slower-than-traffic pace (uphill, lots of lights or stop signs, etc).
I don't know if riding on the sidewalk is technically legal around here or not, but I think I see as many bikes on the sidewalks as I do on the street. I'm still not used to this dense suburban lifestyle, and I miss my midwestern wide open spaces!

LOL. It's been a while since he brought out that Scott A. Gilbert thing. I wonder who will be Scott next? It was that haysooce fellow previously, and someone else as well. Perhaps he'll troll over into rasf1 and assert that someone there is Scott? I think David Melville made a comment about Michael Andretti in there recently.
