Movie based on life of Gilles Villeneuve

C Story 24 February 2005 20:29:57
 Well, well ..

Seems there is a project actually going ahead ..

French CBC is broadcasting a live news conference
at the moment .. and while my French is far
from fluent, it sounds like the principals
have been lined up .. Gerry Donaldson (biographer
of Gilles Villeneuve) is there, Christian Duguay
seems to be listed as the director, and Jacques
is present, and listed as technical consultant.

No mention of dates, or casting ...

What, to slow the cars for the cameras?

Says that it will be more of a biography then a racing film. And, Mark
will be delighted, it will be Gilles as seen by is son.

He would prefer it to be Gilles as seen by Michael Schumacher.

Are they going to run the film at half-speed for that authentic 'as
told by' effect?

To advise, and likely to drive .. which means we'll be
seeing Jacques Villeneuve in a Ferrari .. ;)

Well, actually, the thread is about GV and you made the comment that
Americans aren't good enough for F1. So, a few examples were tossed out
to remind you that it's not exactly true. Not currently as you point
out, but not true that they aren't good enough either.
All Americans are good for in racing is the drooling goober racing of > NASCAB.

Never heard of Nascab?

Ah, the Zen of being feckless, for who better would know the life of Gilles
than Mark?
