A race in China has been on the front burner for quite sometime. You'll remember an Asian airline on Walker's car within the past year or so. That was part of a push to get a race in China.
Using Alex Yoong in one of Coyne's cars was part of an effort to break into China too.

I'm not convinced the airline sponsorship had anything behind it other than a glimmer of hope that it might open up a deal in Shanghai.
