Do you like trials or muni better?

I cant say.Its 50/50 for me.Love em both.

It usually depends on what I feel like riding at the time.

Muni is much more of a time commitment than trials. You can do trials
near home. You may not even have to drive anywhere to get to a trials
location. Muni is different. You have to drive to the trail and the
rides are longer (longer in terms of time).

If you don't have a car then muni may be out of the question and trials
is the alternative.

For me I much prefer muni. In fact, I'm heading out for a muni ride
right in about 5 minutes.

I suspect that the younger folks like trials so much because you don't
have to drive to get there and it's more convenient. And if you happen
to live in an area that doesn't have good MTB trails then muni becomes a
whole lot less fun.

i like muni a lot but trials is hella fun too. i live in the middle of a
huge plain. there's not much for hills let alone mountains. so i have to
drive a little ways ~15 mins to get to some woods to ride through. even
then i can only do about 2 miles in and 2 miles back out. not that
great. i also live in a college town and there's loads of urban type
trials obstacles on campus. woo for ISU having lots of fun stuff to play
on.

Congratulations! This is one of the very few polls where I can vote 100%
accurately without having to compromise my opinion based on the
choices!

Based on the limitations of the polling mechanism, more than 90% of the
polls people put up are a useless waste of time. They either think they
can get an actual sampling of the world's unicycling population here, or
they ask questions that we can't answer using the choices they povide.

This was a good one. Poll-makers, take note! Everybody either likes
Trials or MUni at least a little bit better. Only thing you could have
added was an "about the same" option.

Overpopulated?
Big City?
All locations?
Eh. Nevermind.

I live near off-road trails BUT off-road riding is still a bigger
commitment than trials/street. There are trials lines INSIDE my house -
whereas to get good off-road, I must leave the house. Plus, off-road
riders probably want more "adventure" (as in riding new trails) whereas
trials riders would be happy staying inside my suburban neighborhood
(there are some GREAT lines here that would take years for anyone to
do).

I burn up quite a bit of gas getting to riding locations. The 2nd to
last ride I did was in Florida (Vortex trial in Ocala). I spent more
time flying (each way) than riding.

Even though the cost is higher, the reward is also.

Well, to keep the poll as good as it is, the wording for that middle
ground option should be something like "Cannot choose". Otherwise
people who are 49/51 have two valid options.

This one was a no-brainer... I mean, I love both trials and muni waaaay
more than any other sport I've tried, but riding muni, I'm happier than
a pig in sh*t.

Riding muni, the trail / conditions are constantly changing, you can
ride the same trail 100x and never hit the same line twice, you're
neck-deep in nature and there's nothing like the taste of dirt...

In trials, if you get all dirty that usually means you couldn't stick
your line and bailed way too much... not good!

In muni, if you get all dirty that usually means you ripped the trail to
shreds... way cool!

I suppose if I were better at trials I'd have a different opinion, but
nonetheless, I'd choose mud over pavement any day :D

Is it easier for you to get to a place where there are trails for hiking
and mountain biking or is it easier to get to a place where there are
urban obstacles like stairs and curbs and stuff? That should help you
decide.

If you're really 12 years old like it says on your profile and you're

Then you can save up to buy a muni later.

your probably going to listen to all these guys that are saying to get
trials uni's, but i had to make this decision and took a KH 24" Muni. I
can do trials better on my muni than any other 20" uni i have
ridden(and i do have a 20").

I can go a heck of alot faster to on my Muni, and if there is a trials
line i can still do it easy. I can *easily *make it on top of picknick
tables for hopping too. And of course a Muni looks kewler than a trials
uni. Its bigger and badder, and with a brake ur unstopable.

The bottom line is id say go with a muni, unless u dont do any trail
riding at all. If u just live in a big city or sumthin then get a
trials, but if u do trails then get the muni. It blows going so slow on
a trials uni on the trail.

this is wat ive figured out about muni and trials unis. if youre really
small(like I am) then a trials uni will work for MUni, but im less than
5' tall. also, if youre fairly tall this is what ive figured out. it is
easier to do trials on a MUni than MUni on a trials unless youre really
really little. a MUni has better rolling power, and you go faster. most
also have wider tires.

hope I helped

You can easily do trials on a muni but it is hard to do muni on a
trials. If you have to pick one, I would say go for the muni because it
is more versatile. Of course if you are like 4'6'' you should go for
the trials because the muni is going to probably be too big.
