Next question: Should I get a basic one, or have some upgrades? I> think I'll for sure have an airsaddle. Brakes? Handlebar? Wheel> upgrades? Fork upgrades?
I'm pretty much in your situation.......Going to buy a Coker but still thinking about the possibilities.........Here's what i got...... Airfoil rim for sure......I guess if you intend to go downhill a lot or use insanely short cranks than a brake would be good.Otherwise, it feels good knowing that you have a brake....Handlebars would be recommended for long rides(maybe 6 hours and longer). Great for climbing up hills.....
Wheel Upgrades:If you look around this forum there is someone selling a skinnier tyre........looks expensive though.........Stainless steel spokes make the whole wheel lighter...
Cranks:Start with 150mms, go lower once you are comfortable....I think most use 125mms for hills and 110mms for flats....
If you're strapped for cash but want to add something cheap......cycle comp.........or a bell
I am using 170s but am riding on dirt tracks and up some biggish hills. I love them, but I can hear the original wheel creaking when climbing up a hill. I think the alloy cranks are bending or twisting a bit too. The original 150 steel cranks are fine for basic riding. They don't seem to twist.
