Double vs Single dot balls?

Guest 4 March 2005 01:01:05
What is the difference? I remember reading somewhere that maybe the
double dot balls are a little slower, and don't bounce as much. I can't
find where I read this. I'm just starting out and wondering which type
of ball I should buy if there is a difference.

Thanks!

 Hello,
I'm just starting out and wondering which type of ball I should buy if there is a difference.

The double dot ball is the official tournament ball -- if you want to
play tournaments, definitely use that one. Also, if you play on an
advanced level go for the double dot ball.

I'd recommend you start with the zero dot ball, which is the next
fastest.

Double dot balls are the slowest (ie: do not bounce as much) used by Good
club level players and above.
Single dot balls are used in the winter...In the old days, double dot balls
used to be the same as black balls and single dots were the green.

In Brisbane we use a double yellow all year around. Has to do with our
agreeable climate.
