I'm looking at one of these clutches that I found used, Something doesn't look right though. This is the primary with the much thicker spring cover plate on the primary with the thicker bushing. Here's my question, when that clutch is relaxed as it would be at idle, does the bushing extend beyond the stationary sheave shaft by about 1/4 inch? Would the bolt that holds the clutch to the crank actually be recessed into the bushing making access difficult? Or does something stink with this clutch I'm looking at?
These clutches to my knowledge were only used on 800 CC models from 2002 forward I believe.
I'm going to look at one on a sled today to compare. I think the problem could be in the bolt and washer that is with this clutch. The 800 shows a different part number for the washer that aligns the bolt. An 800 for 2002 calls for a "5132441" washer, and a 700 for 2002 calls for a "513872" washer. If I use the 700 washer that is probably with this clutch is will be stopping the moving sheave by contacting the fiber bushing. That will destroy the bushing with preload pressure before its even running.. Just seems odd they wouldn't have made the shaft 1/4 inch longer and kept the bushing fully engaged. This one does have a cast spider as well. I always thought Polaris should have stayed with the forged ones myself..
