Oxford City Bumping Races - Saturday 23rd April 2005
Raced in coxed fours on the Isis over the same course as the Oxford University Bumps. Open to crews from all clubs under A.R.A. rules (and not restricted to crews from Oxford).

Might I add that we're trying to introduce this kind of race in Holland also? Our's is scheduled for 29 May. Details can be found on http://bumping.rv-alphen.nl (in Dutch).
On the site, there's also a page called 'Fun'. It shows a simple animation of a bump, kindly reusing Ewoud's rowing boats. This page was actually created before the animation of the boatrace of ITV, which was heavily criticized in this news group the other day...
The site also contains a guest book; wouldn't mind if some of you are so kind to leave a line in support!

There used to be bump races in Naarden, I participated a few times as a junior around 1988. They were not OxCam-style bump races though, it was just one race, and: get bumped and you're out. You had to ease up and get out of the way after you got bumped, which is a necessity on the Naarden rowing water because at some places it's too narrow to accommodate two crews rowing side by side.
