Becaused our "sport" has so far failed to come up with leagues, rules, governing bodies or officials that anybody takes seriously?
Come on Tony, name another sport in which the same handful of guys own the teams, the leagues, the magazines, the sponsoring companies -- the works. When pro paintball has a real governing body (one in which notorious cheats aren't on the rules committee) and professional, independent refs who can't be over-ruled by the promoter when they make calls against heavily-sponsored teams, then maybe the word "pro" will mean something, now it's a just a joke.

Wrong on so many levels. Does the phrase "brought to you by" mean anything . . .

WWE
Maybe it's invisible or something, perhaps my newsreader just didn't type it out or something, but... where's the smiley?
WWE is a *SPORT*? That's like saying, oh I don't know, that professional wrestling is a sport! ;)

WWE isn't a sport, it's "entertainment" (hence the e in the initials). The matches are rigged for the most part, the out-of-ring clashes are staged and rehearsed. It's a soap opera in spandex... lots of spandex.

profesional wrestling is a sport.while it IS staged and the outcomes are known,it is VERY physicaly grueling and demanding.wait, this is a paintball ng,why the hell is everyone arguing about wrestling???? ah screw it,im going to Orlando, lol L8

Professional wrestling is a physical activity, not a sport. Is running a sport? Only when competing with others. It's not competition if the outcome has already been determined.

The reason that pro wrestling doesn't call itself a "sport" is that if they did they would be subject to laws governing how a real sport has to be run, and scripted matches with a pre-determined outcome would be a bit of a problem. Just because something is physically demanding doesn't make it a "sport," otherwise ballet would be considered a sport.

Wrestling use to be considered a sport. When pro wrestling was being pushed, dragged and forced into drug testing. Mcmain (owner) went public and said its not a sport. Its for entertainment and thus got the drug testing monkey of his back. By the way the drug they were testing for was steriods.

Oops on the smiley. It was definitely meant tongue in cheek so to speak.
I don't know . . . did he mine coal competitively?

Has anyone seen the Ultimate Arena Paintball series that is playing every >Saturday on WGN? What do you think? >
I watched it but they didnt show anything just kids against dads and that was just highlights. maybe if they show some games it will be better but if the next one is like the last then i wont watch it again.
I wanted to watch it last week but it wasn't on :/ they advertised Saturday evening at 11, but delta force was on... I looked on their site but couldn't find anything mentioning it. I would like to watch it but I can't figure out when it's on apparently.
Oh, and I thin the really funny thing about the whole wrestling WWE conversation is that this show is produced by the same people who do WWE, so maybe it isn't a real great thing after all.

I haven't figured out the gameplay or rules yet..
Fill in all the holes on the golf course, put in some bunkers and flag stations, and play paintball. Simple, and a much better use of the land besides. =)
