** NEW THIS YEAR : "ADOPT-A-KEG"
MARS is known for both a great tournament AND a great party -- but each year, our more than generous and ever-increasing beer supply comes up a couple kegs short at the end of throwing the best POSSIBLE party. While increasing the bids again would be an obvious solution, we feel that it would punish the teams who do not take full advantage of the hospitality that MARS has to offer -- and rationing the beer supply during the first night's party takes away from the fun of a really great time.
So we're offering each team -- and we especially recommend this for the hearty partiers (you know who you are) -- the opportunity to 'sponsor' a keg for an additional $50 per keg. When the tournament supply is dry, we will begin using the 'sponsor' kegs by announcing, 'well, we SHOULD have been out of beer by now... but thanks to [YOUR TEAM NAME], we are able to keep the party going just a little bit longer.' When your team's keg is announced, your team gets to come up and get first crack at your sponsored keg as everyone around you cheers for being the saviors of the party. Two of the sponsor teams will win the tournament banners and there will be other perks along the way for the 'sponsoring' teams TBA.
(IMPORTANT NOTE: As always, the Mars Tournament reserves the right to require proof of age from any player at any time as it applies to the consumption of alcohol, and the right to refuse alcohol to any player at any time for any reason, period.)
