This weekend in Greenville NC, 15 NC Mens College teams compete for the State of NC Championships....also known as, Carolina Sectionals.
6 teams advance to Atlantic Coast Regionals competition from NC...so after pool play action, there will be some rather complicated brackets in order to determine those 6 teams.
NC is traditionally a strong section, but NCState and UNC appear to be the two teams that have a shot at making some noise at AC Regionals.
4 Pools... A-only 3 teams...NCState, Davidson and UNC Greensboro B-UNC, Elon, App State and Duke's B team C-ECU, Wake, UNC's B team and Warren Wilson D-UNCW, Duke, Guilford and UNC Asheville
After three rounds of Pool Play.....Quarterfinals in the first place bracket and Quarterfinals(with one team getting a bye) in what is essentially the 6th place bracket to determine the final team to advance to Regionals.
There are tons of wrap around drop in games for losers of one bracket...and if you can follow all that jazz at the above mentioned website...you are doing nice work! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UNC and NCState will undoubtedly be meeting in finals unless ECU can pull an upset in semis. After that....your guess is as good as mine.
The 6th 7th place game will probably be the game of the weekend...
