Minneapolis BAIT tryout info

Guest 16 March 2005 03:58:57
Hello to all our fellow women ultimate players!

Spring is looming around the corner, and Bait wants to invite you to
consider joining us for another great season of women's Ultimate! Come
meet us and enjoy some great women's Ultimate at any or all of the
open practice. We will start at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis on May 21
from 10-12 - ALL levels of experience are welcome!!

For those of you who may not know about us, Bait is a fun and
competitive women's club Ultimate team looking to bring together an
exciting new mix of women for our 2005 season. We have been so
impressed by the growing numbers of women playing in the Twin Cities,
that we decided to kick off this year with a month of "get to know
each other" pre-season OPEN practices. Our hope is that by bringing
as many players as possible together to enjoy some quality, organized
Ultimate, we can boost interest in the sport and inspire a stronger
sense of community among women Ultimate players in Minnesota. (You do
NOT have to be trying out for Bait to participate in the open
practices.) So tell your friends, grab a disc, and come out to play!

WHO SHOULD COME?
- Women who want to play with Bait this season (these open practices
will also serve as tryouts).
- Women who want to get to know the Bait players and see what practices
are like before deciding to try out.
- Women who play/have played co-ed but want to enjoy some women's
Ultimate too.
- Women playing high school, college or winter league who are
interested in trying club-level women's Ultimate for the first time.
- Women who want to meet other women Ultimate players, sharpen some
skills, get a great workout, and PLAY a lot of Ultimate.
- WOMEN!!

WHAT TO EXPECT
- All practices will be held at Lake Nokomis Park unless otherwise
announced.
- Bring a light and a dark shirt, water, and a disc if you have one.
- We will use a standard practice format, including warm-ups,
stretching, throwing, drills, conditioning, and scrimmaging.
- Captains for Bait 2005 will be chosen AFTER tryouts, so the
organizing and running of open practices/tryouts will be shared by all
the returning
players from the 2004 team. After the last open practice, we will meet
to choose the new Bait roster. Everyone who tried out will be notified
of the team's decision a.s.a.p. The entire Bait 2005 team will then
meet soon after to choose captains and kick off the new season!
- 2005 tournament possibilities include:
Solstice, June 18-19
Boston Invitational, June 25-26
Aquatennial (Minneapolis), late July
Colorado Cup (Denver), August 6-7
Cooler Classic (Milwaukee), late August
Heavy Weight Championships (Chicago), September 10-11
UPA Championship series, October - November
